Yes as long as you only eat seafood with scales and shrimp are allotted as well.
I know it's sold on specific rolls but I'm sure you can ask for it.
Maybe
Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and prompt. I wish there were more pictures on the menu since i didn't know what much stuff was. It is a small place but nice.
Liked the Sushi rolls, however, I think the teriyaki could be a lot more thicker.
I like this place a lot...my favourite sushi Japan Town San Jose. I really enjoy the whimsical atmosphere here and surrounding area. Friendly service and cozy, relaxing place to be. Beer and Sake here so I'd advise not to be in a hurry and enjoy!
They raise the price of their Sushi Supreme 30 dollars from the last time I bought it 3 weeks ago!!! Never mentioned it while ordering!!!I WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!
Food was portioned perfectly and cooked equally as quality. The atmosphere is chill, yet the servers are attentive without being pushy. Will most definitely return for lunch or dinner!
Hurray for having their own parking lot, lots of menu choices and good food. This place gets busy at lunch, but this day, we timed it right. We were slow to order... One waitress checked in and she agreed to return within a couple minutes. Then a second waitress showed up immediately thereafter only to look perturbed when we sent her away. We then spent the rest of lunch getting side eye, but we didn't let it bother us one bit!
The place is wonderful and broad, the meals was yummy and the prices were very inexpensive. quickly, productive service and very affable waiters. Highly recommended.
Queen of Sheba on left, Triple X on right! Amazing!
A solid 3.7 star sushi restaurant (I rounded up). I couldn't get over how in love with asparagus this place is. I literally don't think they have a roll without asparagus. Kinda weird. Service was a little slow but they were super friendly. The rolls were huge and reasonably priced. Probably wouldn't come back again based on nothing about this place standing out.
You may not love authentic Japanese food. You may prefer Americanized Japanese food or Korean-style or Chinese-style Japanese food. But if you're looking to eat in a style that is closer to what you'll get in Japan, this place may satisfy you. We sampled sushi, sashimi (cut thick), sukiyaki, bento. It was good and a relatively good value too.
Wow, this place was TDF. I happened to walk by when 2 ladies said I must stop in. Two sushi roles and a hearty serving of seaweed salad later, I had a happy food baby.
Came here on a Saturday around 1pm for lunch. Place was about half full and we were seated immediately. There are two menus, one for sushi rolls and one for the rest of the menu. Theres actually also a paper menu with the cooked rolls marked if anyone is like me and only wants cooked rolls :)We ended up with two cooked rolls and one raw roll. Crabtopia: this was a cooked rolls with real crab on top. Crab isn't super pronounced but the roll was pretty good on flavor and mouthfeel. Rice was loose and ratio was right. Spider Man roll: also cooked, had spider crab cut on top of the roll anddd a whole one on top! Awesome presentation. Lots of flavor. Unagi was pretty small inside.Double roll: salmon and yellow tail, this was a raw roll. Hubby said it was pretty good. Service was great. Overall would pop back in if I'm in the area.
The sushi was excellent but the lunch service was not. It took quite a while to get an initial drink order and I had to beg several times for a menu. Very nice selection of rolls and other sushi, plus other Japanese food items. When I finally got food, it was very good. I had to ask for chopsticks, soy sauce, and wasabi. I also had to flag the waitress down to get my check after waiting for an extended period. I’d order to-go there if I went again, as the seating area is tiny and quite crowded. They’re very popular. There is street parking and a small lot on the south side of the building.
This place was our go to spot in JTown for the last few years, doing takeout a few times a month. But the sushi roll quality has consistently really gone south. Hawaiian roll, lemon slices have been cut too thick, rolls incomplete each time - falling apart or weren't even fully connected. Unfortunate because we really liked their rolls.
Not impressed with the food. Since the place is Japan Town we expected to be better. The food was average. We wouldn't return for average food. Servers were friendly and fast though.
Fun place to eat. Pork curry katsu cutlet was good. So are the specialty sushi.
Food was very very good but what bothered me was that they don't accept debit. Only credit or cash... Thought it was weird.. And didnt like having to go to an atm to pull out money..
Delicious Sushi and HUGE portion sizes. The bathroom in the back is single person and pretty grungy - just a heads up. They definitely have a lot of interesting themed rolls, and it's a pretty intimate space. Great night life nearby (within walking distance).
Solid choice for sushi rolls and sashimi. For the sushi rolls, the fish and ingredients are fresh and flavorful, and the rice is moist. Sashimi is fresh. Prices are reasonable and on par with similar sushi restaurants near downtown SJ area. That said, I would definitely come back, wait for a table, instead of going somewhere else. Staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant can be considered on the smaller side, so you may have to wait for a table during busy time. We went Sunday around 70pm and were seated straight away.
Worst service ever, kids got food, my wife and I never got our food and they never checked. Kids enjoyed the food but we will never come back service was so bad. They were completely focused on take-out orders.
Absolutely delicious! Used Google to find a place near my hotel to eat sushi and was recommended this place. They did not disappoint. My friend got the Saba(mackerel) and Golden California Roll. I had the two piece bento. Everything was priced reasonably.
I don't eat sushi but i treated my wife and mother in law who both enjoyed the food it was well presented ans the service was good as well definitely worth a shot but make sure you bring a couple of bucks as the choices are hard to make so you might end up with a couple of different plates.
Coming from East coast we expected a little better. But tasted good overall.
Best place to get sushi! Service is fast and friendly!
This a nice little restaurant. The food here was really great. I had the 3 item bento for lunch. Tempura, Tonkatsu, and Fried Scallops. My fiance had a 2 item bento, tempura and gyoza. That gyoza was what she wanted and she loved it. The fried scallops were not dried out. Crispy and juicy. The tempura was really good. Nothing was overcooked, it was perfect. The tonkatsu was just what I expected. The sauce tangy and sweet. The sushi was my brothers. The california roll is pretty good. Just as good as any other place. Nothing really stood out about it. He ordered another roll. I can't remember the name of it. But, OMG it was delicious. There was this heat that it had, which basically complemented the bite. The service was great. We got seated right away. But, it pays to go early. Service was fast too. Really great place.
Just moved into the area so I've been trying to check out some good local restaurants. This is probably one of my favorite sushi places thus far. Their specialty rolls with the Star Wars names are really good. Most importantly there fish quality is top-notch. I've been back three times and have never been disappointed so far. Service is very friendly, and unlike most places around here you can usually get a table without much of a wait. I was very impressed! Lol just a heads up they can get a lil crazy with the tempura so you might want to ask for it to be light.
Sake nirigi.. dynamite sushi... The California roll and the mango tango.. a very reasonable place for decent tasting sushi..
I have been here a few times and every time i find something I enjoy. Its a great neighborhood sushi spot. I ordered the sashimi plate for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of fish and the quality of the fish. The agadashi tofu is another favorite of mine. It's always lightly battered and the tofu is always a great texture. Make sure to get there early. It tends to get busy and with good reason since the price is great for the quality and amount.
Fun atmosphere & tasty food. Very cool pop culture decorations. Different Japanese menu selections in addition to sushi and bento box choices.
I can highly recommend Okayama in Japantown. I really like their R2D2 roll - but everything is very tasty!
Pretty decent sushi, but very American. I had the broiled Saba, which was very good with the shioyaki. The skin was very crispy and the flavor was just right. Oddly enough, the Saba came out before the rolls did. Overall the rolls were interesting as they have a star wars section of their menu. The overall atmosphere of the place is very laid back, which is comfortable to be in. Service is pretty quick and the people are nice.
I go with my wife to this nice place quite often! This is my favorite place to to have a good dinner. I visit this spot routinely. The meals are fantastic, the crew is polite and the charge is decent. I enjoy eating in this place over a rich lunch.
Perfect for spontaneous sushi. Quick fill... Go with the classic Unagi Roll. Spider Man roll will disappear right in front of you....
This spot is the one I like best. I visit plenty of restaurants but to this restaurant I keep coming back again and again. The crew is very warm and the cooking they offer is so delicious. I am always happy to have a decent dinner in this restaurant. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Quality sushi and sashimi, plus nicely decorated place! Would not recommend hot donburi based on my visit, but your miles may vary.
Not so good experience here...Bad mood waitress... When i asked for a spoon in order to drink the miso soup she brought me a dirty occidental spoon (check the picture).Average food.Never had this kind of experience at a Japanese restaurant. I will never return here.
Great place for sushi. This place has been open a long time and still dishes out great sushi. Staff is fast and friendly. I recommend to anyone in the Japantown area.
Salmon was really good, the katsu Don wasn't exactly what I was hoping for though...
Great! We over-ordered since we Europeans just can't get used to American serving sizes, so I do wish someone warned us we went to far, but can't blame the quality. Everything was excellent.
This place offers amazing service as well as yummy menu. My favourite spot around town. The food and drinks served quickly and the rates are economical. I recommend this place.
Good sushi, well laid out and efficient social distancing pick up and ordering
This place is one of my favorites! Convenient rates, large portions and the staff are regularly welcoming.
Fantastic place to get something when in a hurry. The service is rapid, rates are affordable, great mood. Will come visit again
This spot is one of my favorites! Fair rates, considerable dishes and the staff are constantly very nice.
Great food, extended open hours, lots of parking in the side and back, convenient location in Japan Town San Jose
This place is doubtless one of the most pleasant place to eat in the region. Every time I go there I am truly pleased. They maintain their very high standard service and the topmost level of meals they offer. You are always happy with this restaurant. Highly recommended.
What a great discovery! Great ingredients, very nice portions and delicious food. Very nice staff and pleasant ambience. Looking forward to going back.
Great sushi. Very fresh. They have some experimental/unique/crazy rolls that are not only fun, but very good! The eel ngiri (a personal favorite) is fantastic - fresh and perfectly cooked. Definitely in my top five favorite sushi places.
Fantastic beef teryaki. Tender, flavorful. And the sushi rolls were massive. Great meal.
Best green tea matcha ice cream in town! My other favorite thing is the sushi is fabulous and the prices are right. My only complaint is that it's a bit smaller and sometimes the wait is a bit long if they are busy, however they do have a quick turnover rate and always great service the food comes out rather fast and with a waiter or waitress always wearing a generous and genuine smile! I totally recommend trying if you are in the area and a sushi buff!
